New hymns added to our free, downloadable collection

*Updated (2/26/17 6:11pm): I’ve added the titles below of the hymns we just added yesterday for those curious.

We have just added more new hymns to our free, downloadable resource! Head on over to ClassicHymns.org to view them.

We are also very close to completing the 250 hymns we plan to include in our print hymnal. Toward that end, we could use your help: Please let us know if you notice any errors, mistakes, or other issues with any of the hymns. No comment is too small. If you think two words are a bit too close together, a note should be nudged just a bit, or anything else, please let us know. The more eyes we get on the hymns now, the fewer corrections we’ll have to make before we go to print.

Here is a list of the hymns we just added:

Arise, O Lord, our God, Arise
Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken
Good Christians All, Rejoice and Sing
Hark, the Voice of Jesus Calling
Holy Trinity, Thanks and Praise to Thee
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts
In the Bleak Midwinter
Jesus, My Highest Treasure
Let the Whole Creation Cry
Not All the Blood of Beasts
Not All the Outward Forms on Earth
O Lord of Heaven and Earth and Sea
O Lord, Our Lord in All the Earth
O My Soul, Bless Your Redeemer
One There is Above all Others
Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven
Priest and Victim, Jesus Dies
Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me
Sing, My Tongue, the Glorious Battle
The Spacious Heavn’s Declare
Stand Up and Bless the Lord
Stricken, Smitten, and Afflicted
Sun of My Soul
Thee We Adore, Eternal Lord
To God the Only Wise
We Praise Thee, O God, Our Redeemer, Creator

  1. Hi Scott,
Are there any plans afoot to publish some of these as instrumental arrangements for piano and various solo instruments? I find very few things available for piano and oboe for instance so it’s always hard coming up with new things for offertory. Also much of what is available is super easy arrangements for flute and piano mainly, there’s very little intermediate and no advanced arrangements for anything, particularly oboe and piano. If I had more theory background (and more time) I’d do my own arrangements.
    Regards,
    -Jeff

  2. Hi, Jeff. Right now there are no plans to produce instrumental arrangements. We’re just trying to get the hymnal finished! But we’ll see for the future!
