From Classical to Modern Education

We can say that classical education is teaching students how to think and what to do—which is just another way of saying “wisdom and virtue” . . . At the turn of the twentieth century . . . the old classical curriculum was slowly replaced by the new progressivism . . . A curriculum that stressed how to think and what to do was turned upside down in the new curriculum, where the dual priority was not on how to think and what to do, but on what to think (indoctrination in political ideology) and how to do (vocational training). But man is more than a political activist and an employee.

One Response to From Classical to Modern Education

With respect – this is sheer baloney – and is simply your partisan judgement – a characteristic and behavior which is condemned.

The reality is that the modern evangelical system entirely force-feeds its adherents and provides little to no quality critical thinking – where their assumptions are being challenged. The result is the above sort of baloney.

Sad to say…:-(. The call of the Lord Jesus Christ is so much greater than this and it really serves only to defame Him.
